Hello everyone this is Mr. Donovan. First off, what a great showing at the open house! We are so excited to get everyone back in the building.
A few things I wanted to talk about:
This year we are still going to have a huge focus on family engagement. Our goal is to partner with you to support your child’s success, both in and out of the classroom. From school events and volunteer opportunities to open communication and shared decision-making, we’re here to listen, collaborate, and celebrate student success.
Parking will look a little different this year in the parking lot west of the main gym. Half of it will be completely blocked off due to equipment for the new track. Please use the north side and main parking lot for the time being. Pick up and drop off at the front will look the same this year. If you do plan on coming into the school, please be sure not to park at the front door and use the main parking lot.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please reach out!! Again, we are extremely excited for a great school year!

Get your 2024-25 Yearbooks TONIGHT!

We are excited to have all the students and parents come to our open house tomorrow from 4:00PM-6:00PM. Students are welcome to bring their school supplies to their classrooms. Bus information will be available during this time. See you then!

This is a reminder for ONLY 4 and 5 year old pre-school students. We will be doing pickup and drop off at the three daycares in the town of Wolsey. Pickup will be between 12:20-12:30 and drop off will be around 3:45. Please reach out to becky.dragt@k12.sd.us if you have questions.

The playground is officially open!!

Farm to table program is reaching out to members of the community for produce or other products that they would be interested in contributing to the farm to school program. Items can be donated and purchased. Please email riley.donovan@k12.sd.us with any questions.

Recently, the school board approved 6th graders for middle school sports, and we want to clear up what this means. There will be a few sports that will be low enough in numbers that they will not be able to field a team. This will only be on an emergency basis year-to-year if numbers drop too low at the middle school level. As of right now for this fall season the following sports will allow 6th grade students to participate: MS boys/girls Cross Country and MS Football. We will evaluate again in the winter and spring. Again, this is only for students to field a team for that season. Thank you for your understanding. Please reach out to Mr. Kemnitz or Mr. Donovan if you have questions.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer! Last night at the board meeting the school board made a resolution to go from 7 board members to 5 board members. In order for this resolution to pass, there will be a public vote on August 5th. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to call the school. We will send out more information closer to that date. Also, the following coaching positions are open: Head Football Assistant Football (2 positions) Head Boys Basketball Assistant Boys Basketball Middle School Volleyball The following teaching positions are open as well: CTE Ag or Construction. Applicants do not need a teaching degree. Please email Mr. Donovan at riley.donovan@k12.sd.us if you are interested in any of these positions.

Hello everyone this is Mr. Donovan. First off, I want to thank everyone for a great year! We are proud to have an exceptional staff and outstanding students who truly make our district one of the best. Construction officially began today on the track, football field, and playground! The playground will be locked, but the preschool park will still be open to the public. The football field and track will be completely off-limits. Thank you for your understanding, and we will send another message when everything opens up again.
